With dedication and hard work you can reach anything you put your mind to. One of my dreams has come true, my work is finally on the cover of a magazine. I had this dream as my goal when I started studying as a stylist, but little did I know that it would happen so early in my career, and with a celebrity like Raya Abirached. I am super excited to tell you more about how I met Raya.
Like every other professional stylist, when you get a call for a job with a celebrity you immediately go through the rules and regulation in your mind. The rules are pretty simple and similar to every stylist as per my experience. It is to deliver an outstanding service with diplomacy and kindness, and off course with a smile on your face. But like everyone else to achieve this you have to connect with your client and we all know that sometimes that can be a little difficult at first. I was a bit worried. Well until Raya entered the room with a big smile on her face, greeting everyone with a warm welcome, at that exact moment I knew this was going to be a great experience.
For my readers who don't know Raya Abirached, she is a very talented and hard working TV presenter in the Middle East, handling two big programs "Scoop with Raya" and " Arabs got Talent". The reason why I mention hard working is because "Scoop with Raya" is filmed in London and USA and "Arabs got Talent" is filmed in Lebanon, which means a lot of flying around the world on a weekly basis, so you can see for yourselves how hard she works. She has become my inspiration.
We were shooting for the famous American brand Banana Republic (Raya being their brand ambassador) the clothes suited her perfectly, as she said to be "It's exactly my style" which I have to agree with. Putting the outfits together was an easy pleasure due to Banana Republic's new muse, Marissa Webb, who since 2014 joined the brand as a new in-house designer who believes in layers and a comfortable chic style. Raya and I got very inspired by Marissa and followed her exact vision.
We used many layers from Banana Republic's new 2014 winter collection. The collection has very settled colors like grey, black and white, along with brighter colors such as green and powder pink. Wearing each piece individually would look comfortable and simple, but when you add layers such as their gorgeous coats or outstanding jackets, it really adds complexity to the looks making them stand out, while maintaining the comfort.
The pictures speak for themselves as proof that we all bonded well as a team and had loads of fun. You now can find the magazine on newsstands everywhere, and I am very thankful to Kul Al Usra Magazine and W Studios for this great opportunity, and special thanks to my dearest friends Petra Sartoris and Noha Hussni, you ladies make my job a dream.
